Beyond the Gardens
There are three entrances to the Nature Trail from the south side of Keppel Croft Gardens (1). The Nature Trail is a mown grass path through the fields and secondary growth of old pastures south to the edge of the bush.
You can walk the trail to Painter's Point in about fifteen minutes.

Enjoy a ramble along the mown trail and take time to read the information plaques along the route. There are benches along the trail. In autumn come with your basket and pick totally organic apples from our wild apple self set apple trees. In wet weather the trail on the west side of the field may be closed because of muddy conditions.

Keppel Henge (2), an analemmatic sundial (3) and an annual tracing of an analemma (4) are astronomically correct installations. Catch the summer solstice here!

The vegetable garden (6), a new orchard and a berry patch are on the eastern side of the Nature Trail.

The trail takes you by the bunkie (7), a great place for bird watching and up an easy hill to High View (8) . Sit and enjoy looking across to waters of Big Bay. At Painter's Point (9) there is a picnic table and a view to the bay waiting for you.

Bill has established an arboretum (10) on the west side of the Nature Trail. This is an ongoing project and features trees planted in the last twenty five or more years.
