Keppel Croft Farm and Gardens

Bed and Breakfast

For over twenty years we have offered unique Bed and Breakfast accommodation in our circa-1870 Ontario Farmhouse. We provide an old fashioned B and B experience with lots of personal attention.

Breakfast on the patio under the Crabapple tree.

There are twin beds in a large studio styled area which was originally two upstairs bedrooms. Guests can relax here in the lounge area, make use of the old family harvest table and browse through the shelves of books. There is no television. The view from the south window is of aviaries, Keppel Henge, the fields and the hardwood bush. The bathroom is downstairs and is shared by guests and the family.

Breakfast is served to suit your holiday schedule. We serve a leisurely breakfast in our kitchen, on the screened-in porch or under the crabapple tree on the patio. You might like to begin the day before breakfast with a cup of coffee in your hand as you stroll through the morning gardens. Breakfast includes eggs from our own chickens, homemade jams and baking, and seasonal fruit from the garden. We are happy to accommodate your dietary requests.

We are pleased to welcome you with complimentary coffee, tea or juice with a sampling from the cookie jar. Just let us know when you are likely to arrive so we can put on the kettle. There is no expected time for you to depart so if you wish to have that last look around the garden or a quick dip in Georgian Bay you don't have to be concerned about the time.

Children are welcome at Keppel Croft. Our farm is just across the road from Georgian Bay. Jump off the Big Bay dock if wading is too slow a process for getting into the clear but cool waters of Big Bay. The rocky shore makes a great place for fossil hunting. The Nature Trails invite children to explore the fields and the bush.

Keppel Croft is close to Skinner's Bluff, one of the most scenic parts of the Bruce Trail. We can recommend other hikes close to Big Bay. There is a Blue Bird trail through our farm and you will find bird watching comes naturally here. In summer the bay is waiting for swimmers and in the winter you can cross country ski or snow shoe from the back door. Cyclists appreciate our back country roads. All the attractions of the Bruce Peninsula and the Lake Huron Shoreline are within easy driving of Keppel Croft.
